If the issue is JUST the bail.
Please let us know if your bail is distorted and you need
a new one. We'd be happy to mail you a replacement.
Just email us where to send it.
The most common issue is with the hardware, particularly with silver alloy buckles. This metal has a low melting point, meaning it's considered a "soft" metal. This means it is weaker than bronze or Sterling. Excessive use can cause the hook to weaken. Wearing too tightly can cause the bail to pull and distort. Sometimes, in the silver alloy metal, the boss can also be damaged. Silver alloy buckles are the main metal we see these issues with.
Please reach out to us before anything weakens to the point that you may lose your buckle in the field.
If anything is feeling less than perfect on your buckle, you can send it back to us, and we will replace it FOR FREE. Any custom engraving on your buckle will be transferred to your new buckle.
Please return your buckle to us with a note INSIDE the package with:
• Your name
• Return address
• Phone number
• Email address, for tracking information.

Keeping up the shine
Buckles are finished and clearcoated with a clear lacquer for protection. Over time, this can wear off, and your buckle can start to oxidize or get darker. If you are in a coastal area with lots of salt in the air, or any place that is humid, you will see this process happen sooner.
We suggest using Brasso, a commercial metal polish, and a soft cloth. You can also get any clear arisal clear-coat to add to the protection of your hard work.
On Sterling, as strange as is sounds, toothpaste works amazing on polishing silver.
If for any reason you are not able to get that to work, please contact us and we can get that back and polish it for you here.
